This is a funny place…it’s open 24 hours, it’s not quite a chain, but they have several locations, it’s huge and they offer a wide variety of mostly Mexican (…Tex-Mex) dishes, oh they’re extremely cheap, especially for the portions that you receive.

There was only one customer there when I arrived and it was a bit off putting only because the space is so big, it was pretty early in the morning so it was actually not strange…but again the size of the place made it seem that much more empty.

I was going to get a few breakfast tacos but they have an egg breakfast plate that comes with flour tortillas so I figured I’d just go that route and just fashion my own. The plate comes with 2 eggs (got mine scrambled), 2 bacon strips, 2 sausage, homestyle potatoes (with onions), 2 floor tortillas and 2 pancakes. I told you it was a lot of food.

The eggs were actually pretty good, they were cooked just right which sometimes is not that easy for places like this to do. These were not over cooked at all. The potatoes were really good too, the grilled onions were a nice touch. The bacon was way over cooked and not even really edible. The sausage was okay, a bit greasy. The pancakes were slightly above average, pretty good actually, nice and fluffy. The one amazing thing were the floor tortillas, they make them fresh on premises and they were some of the best floor tortillas I’ve had, delicious. They made for a great breakfast taco!

The portions were absolutely humongous, certainly “Texas Sized”….and the price, are you kidding me, under $6. You literally could eat just this breakfast and be set for the entire day. They also have a really nice salsa bar with a wide variety of great salsas and dressings. One that really stood out was a fresh Mango Salsa.

I would say if you’re in the neighborhood and are hungry this would be your go to place. It’s quick, cheap and actually surprisingly tasty.

  1. I haven’t had Tex-Mex in such a long time. Seeing this kind of food makes me miss Texas so much. I was born in Texas and now I live in Georgia, the food here doesn’t measure up (with the exception of some restaurants). This is just my opinion, though.

You should stop by, “Gladys Knight’s Chicken & Waffles,” if you plan on visiting Atlanta, GA anytime soon. Be sure to try out their sweet potato sticks! They taste great!
