I love some of these old-time movie drive-in ads. This is good old classic Americana. I wish these roadside havens were still around and operating at full scale. At their peak there were about 4000 in the United States. Currently there are a about 380 still showing movies (albeit not on a full schedule). Sadly Alaska, Delaware and Louisiana are the only states that do not have any. With the advent of flat-screen TVs, game consoles and WiFi internet it seems people want and get their entertainment at the snap of their fingers. There is no longer a need for good ol’ drive-in. Lucky for us the internet had given us the ability to catalogue and gather memories from times past. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do:
